Alex Katz: Landscapes

Landscapes, the solo exhibition by American post-war artist Alex Katz, presents a series of paintings focusing on the process of creation; the show will include small and large-scale paintings, along a selection of "cartoons", with an aim to map and give an insight to the artist's method and approach. The works depict blurry landscapes in a reductive-style, a theme that has persisted throughout the artist´s practice. Both inside and outside the studio, Alex Katz creates spontaneous compositions by observing the qualities of light within nature that in turn, prompt discussions about the relationship between art and nature.

Alex Katz´s exhibition is realised in partnership with Mário Sequeira and stands as a celebration to their previous collaborations in the last two decades at the gallery.
